HARM REDUCTION & PREVENTION

At Recovery Community Network (RCN), we are committed to harm reduction and prevention as key components of our comprehensive recovery support services. Our Harm Reduction Program is designed to minimize the negative impacts of substance use and promote safer practices within our community.

We offer a range of services and resources to help individuals, families, and organizations adopt harm reduction strategies.

RCN is a Naloxone Training & Distribution Point, providing life-saving training and access to Naloxone (Narcan), a medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. Our training sessions educate participants on how to properly administer Naloxone, recognize signs of an overdose, and take immediate action. By equipping community members with this knowledge and the necessary tools, we aim to reduce overdose deaths and improve public safety.

FENTANYL TEST KITS

To combat the dangers of fentanyl contamination in the drug supply, we offer fentanyl test kits. These kits allow individuals to test substances for the presence of fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid that significantly increases the risk of overdose. Providing access to these test kits is part of our commitment to harm reduction and keeping our community informed and safe.

NALAXONE/NARCAN TRAINING

RCN provides specialized training for businesses and community organizations to promote harm reduction practices. Our training programs cover a variety of topics, including substance use awareness, overdose response, and the implementation of harm reduction strategies in the workplace. By educating and empowering local businesses and organizations, we aim to create a safer, more supportive environment for everyone.

OUR APPROACH TO HARM REDUCTION

Our harm reduction approach is rooted in compassion, respect, and evidence-based practices. We believe in meeting individuals where they are in their recovery journey and providing the tools and support they need to stay safe and healthy. Harm reduction is not about condoning substance use but about recognizing the reality of its presence and working proactively to minimize its harmful effects.
